Manchester United legend Bryan Robson is sure Sir Alex Ferguson is the right man to turn around "rusty" Wayne Rooney's season.

The pair had been reported to have fallen out after the striker contradicted his manager's claims of an ankle injury. This disruption had been blamed for Rooney's lack of goals, but 'Captain Marvel' is convinced Ferguson's experience will be a vital help.Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: “I don’t think that would happen with Wayne.“The difference between Wayne and other players is that he’s a born winner. He’s got that fantastic winning mentality that Sir Alex loves. The boss loves people with that attitude and having them around him.“Wayne is a bit rusty from the World Cup. There were high expectations of him and he had them of himself so he’ll be disappointed things didn’t work out.“His confidence has been rocked because he’s only human.“He’s also had his personal problems and it doesn’t matter how strong a character you are, it can take a while to get over them.“These things take time, but there is no danger whatsoever that Wayne won’t come back and light up the Premier League again.“He will have a period when he isn’t scoring, all strikers go through that. But it’s down to him to work even harder and find his form again. It’s only a matter of time before he comes good, for United and England.“And in Sir Alex he has the perfect man to help him. He will support and encourage him and the experienced players at United will also help him because they’ll know what he’s going through.“Sir Alex will make sure certain things don’t happen again and get him focusing on his football. He knows he doesn’t have a problem in teaching Wayne to be a winner because he is one already and this is all that counts in Sir Alex’s eyes.”
