Gary Neville to make sensational Man Utd return to solve injury crisis...

Injury crisis at Old Trafford with Man Utd defenders Rio Ferdinand, John O'Shea, Rafael, Nemanja Vidic and Jonny Evans all out.

Gary Neville will answer the call of Sir Alex Ferguson to reverse his retirement decision after Manchester United were plunged into injury crisis.

The former England full back retired from Football in February, but injuries to Rio Ferdinand, Rafael, Nemanja Vidic, John O'Shea and Jonny Evans has seen Neville reconsider.

Sir Alex Ferguson previously rebuffed the claims - "Gary Neville? He's retired! Shall we see if Paul Parker is fit too?" - but Neville is believed to have convinced Ferguson he could do a job.

It would hardly be without precedent. Man Utd's title rivals Arsenal have after all just moved for Jens Lehmann to solve their goalkeeping woes.

FC Porto striker Hulk has emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester United according to reports from Portugal. 

The Brazilian hitman has impressed with the Portuguese side this season as they run away with their domestic league and are also into the last 16 of the Europa League, holding a 1-0 lead over CSKA Moscow from their first leg match in Russia. 

Portuguese daily O Jogo report that United are keen on Hulk, having scouted him extensively, and will try to take him to Old Trafford in the summer. 

The 24-year-old, who gained his nickname due to his strength and stocky build, would surely jump at the chance to continue his career with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side but, under contract with Porto until 2014, a sizeable fee would need to be paid.

Hulk has been prolific with Andre Villas Boas’ men, but this season is his finest yet, with nearly 30 goals in all competitions over 40 games so far.

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that Manchester United have missed Antonio Valencia during the past few months.

The 25-year-old winger has been out of action since September due to a dislocated ankle sustained during a Champions League clash against Rangers.

And the Ecuador international, who Goal.com UK exclusively revealed is expected to play some part in the FA Cup clash with Arsenal this weekend, has since returned to training, with the Scot being happy to have his wide man back.

"He was fantastic last season, absolutely brilliant," said the Scot, according to The Sun.

"He was a great signing, he really was.

"The great thing about him was he takes the ball with such great strength and balance. He can take the ball up to the other end of the pitch for you. We missed that pace and acceleration.

"Although Nani has done fantastic - I mean he's been a revelation this season - we've missed that."

On the pitch Manchester United have suffered a difficult week in the Premier League, but off it they’ve signed up a star for the future: Adnan Januzaj.

Dubbed the ‘next David Beckham, Januzaj has been getting plenty of attention in Belgium and is to be taken under Sir Alex Ferguson’s wing at Old Trafford.

Man United have reportedly signed Anderlecht’s 16 year-old playmaker Adnan Januzaj for a fee in the region of £550,000.

A new photograph of what appears to be Manchester United’s home shirt for the 2011-2012 season has been leaked on the Internet.

The new photo appears to be consistent with the one of the new Man United home jersey that we leaked in December. The latest image is much clearer and shows a simple yet elegant design. The unique feature is the black and white collar that accentuates the shirt. The remainder of the shirt is a solid red color except for the white Nike swoosh logo and sponsor name.

GIGGSY : 20 years and counting....!!

John O’Shea believes team-mate Ryan Giggs can carry on playing until he’s 40.

Almost two decades on from his United debut, the veteran midfielder broke yet another record on Tuesday night against Chelsea when he came off the bench to equal Sir Bobby Charlton’s total of 606 league appearances for the club.

Unfortunately, the Welshman wasn’t able to prevent the Reds from losing out at Stamford Bridge, but O’Shea knows Giggs’ experience will prove crucial over the coming few weeks. And he’s tipping the 37-year-old to play his part in a few more title races yet.

“Every cliché in the book has been used about the man already and I’m sure they will be said many times again. He’s an absolute legend,” O’Shea told ManUtd.com.

“You’ve seen how the manager has build squads and teams over the years and Giggsy has been a vital part of every single one of them."When you think of the greats, someone like Paolo Maldini springs to mind and his time with AC Milan, but I think you could say Giggsy has almost gone past him; the speed and the balance he still shows to go past whether it be an old, experienced defender or a new up and coming young, strong defender is incredible.

“His physical shape hasn’t changed since I’ve known him and he looks after himself so well. Depending on injuries he could easily carry on although I’m sure he just wants to take it one season at a time."He’s enjoying his football so much at the minute so I can’t see why he couldn't [continue until he’s 40], but I’ll let him decide on that.”

Debut belaiu adalah ketika menentang Everton di Old Trafford pada 2hb March 1991 dimana dia masuk sebagai pemain gantian!! What and achievement...20 tahun with the same club!! Aku pun setuju gak dgn apa yg dikatakan O'shea dan aku percaya Giggsy mampu utk terus bermain hingga umur 40 tahun sama seperti Van der Sar dan Sheringham!! You are TRUE LEGEND and nobody will ever perform and be able to surpass you..you are ONE of a kind and that's why you are my IDOL!! Five Reasons Man Utd Will Still Win the League Title...!!

Chelsea pulled off a brilliant victory last night but there were still signs aplenty of why Manchester United have the edge this season and why they look set to hold off Arsenal, who are now just four points behind with a game in hand, to claim the title. Chelsea can be pleased after last night but United need not fear.

1 Spectacular Rooney on the edge

All the fuss about whether or not Wayne Rooney should have been banned from last night's game for his elbow on Wigan Athletic's James McCarthy clearly had not affected the England striker, who scored with an explosive flourish after 30 minutes and then celebrated provocatively, posing with his arms spread wide in front of the Chelsea fans in the Matthew Harding Stand. The darker side of his game is never far from the surface, but he managed to keep his temper in check when it looked at first that he might lash out after a physical tussle with David Luiz. He was a threat all night.

2 Torres still finding his feet

For Chelsea, Fernando Torres is still yet to score in four games following his £50m move from Liverpool, but his confidence has not evaporated just yet, given the flamboyant way he went about his tussle with his old adversary Nemanja Vidic. The Spaniard did finally hit the back of the net, with a bouncing shot that ballooned into the goal, but referee Martin Atkinson had already blown his whistle for an infringement by Luiz. Torres's control and movement were sharp – the problem was Chelsea did not have enough of the ball to get it too him.

3 Van der Sar is a tough act to follow

Most men in their 40s have long since given up playing amateur football, but Edwin van der Sar is still performing at the same high standard into his 41st year. His improvised save to flick the ball away from Branislav Ivanovic, while the goalkeeper was on the ground having parried Frank Lampard's fierce freekick, was a moment of brilliance. His decision to retire at the end of the season will leave Sir Alex Ferguson with a big hole to fill. In many respects the ideal replacement was in goal for Chelsea last night, but there is no chance the Londoners would let Petr Cech leave for one of their main rivals.

4 Ancelotti's tactics played into United's hands

Chelsea started the game with a traditional 4-4-2 system that had worked last week in Copenhagen, but it failed last night, as the strikers were left isolated by Chelsea's midfield, which was outnumbered whenever United's wide players dropped deeper. Chelsea players also got in each other's way at times. Earlier in the season their interplay was intuitive, but last night it was laboured at times. It was individual brilliance (and luck with the penalty), not tactics, that earned them the victory.

5 Depth of squad

Chelsea strengthened in January with the arrivals of Torres and Luiz. However, their squad still looks thin compared to United's. When both managers looked to make changes in the second half, Carlo Ancelotti turned to Didier Drogba and Yuri Zhirkov. Ferguson, in contrast, was able to bring on Dimitar Berbatov and Ryan Giggs. He also has Antonio Valencia waiting in the wings and he will be back before the season's out.

Sir Alex Ferguson pulled few punches in his view of referee Martin Atkinson's performance in Manchester United's 2-1 loss at Chelsea.

Ferguson was unhappy with Atkinson both for awarding Chelsea's matchwinning and for not sending off David Luiz moments earlier when he appeared to foul Wayne Rooney - himself the beneficiary of some lenient refereeing at the weekend.

Ferguson said: "The penalty kick was so soft. Deary me. But we played very well. It was a great performance by us. We didn't deserve that.

"That's three years in a row (at Stamford Bridge) referees' decisions have changed the game."

On the Luiz decision, he added: "It was incredible. Even before that he'd done Chicharito off the ball. He'd done him late. Nothing done, the referee's in front of it.

"He does Rooney clear as day, (the referee is) six yards from it, he doesn't do anything. That changed the game.

"These are decisions that change the game. And he's going to be refereeing every week.

"But I'm proud of the players. They've endured a lot of decisions against them but they've come through it, they've done their best. They've created good chances.

"They didn't deserve that."

Asked if Chelsea were back in the title race, he added: "If they get decisions like tonight then it can change everything.

"They got a lot of decisions tonight that surprised me."

The victory leaves Chelsea 12 points behind United with a game in hand.

Entah la..aku tak tau nak cakap apa!! Commentator kat Astro pagi dah tolong luahkan utk aku kot..kalau korang perasan la..at the end dia ada cakap UNLUCKY RED DEVILS!! Tapi masuk second half Chelsea dah dapat mengimbangi United and diorg skor gol penyamaan pada minit 54 hasil jaringan Luiz!! Aku tak kisah sangat la pasal tu but yg aku geram......eeeeee...malas betol aku nak citer...tensen pun ada!! Takpela la, lupakan tu semua and perjalanan masih panjang!! Kadang2 keputusan berpihak pada kiter and kadang2 tak..aku terima je la!! Giggsy Bengang Dengan Chelsea...!!

Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs says he was "p***ed off" when Chelsea won the Double last season.

Giggs is still bitter about Carlo Ancelotti's men ruining his summer after taking United's title and completing the Double.

He said: "I don't think about the titles I've won. I just look at the future.

"Last year, for example, when Chelsea won the Double - it winds you up. You don't want it to happen again. You don't want to feel like you did last summer.

"You want to feel like the year before when you won the league. It's not the fear of failure. It's just craving that feeling of winning the title.

"We lost by one point last year and it stays with you.

"You go on holiday, trying to enjoy yourself with the kids, and you do, but then you have a quiet moment, it comes back to you what happened and, I'll say it, you're p****d off. You're on holiday and you're just p****d off."
